OFM traffic: where subscribers come from and why accounts get removed
By the OFM.Market team · Published · 2 min read
Short answer
Traffic is how new fans find a creator's page: short videos and social posts that send people to a link. The main channels are TikTok, Instagram, X, Reddit, dating apps and Telegram, and each trades reach against the risk of losing the account. Sources agree on one point: run more than one channel, because any single account can be removed without notice.
How the funnel works
Most agencies use a simple funnel. Short, platform-friendly posts catch attention. A profile and a link-in-bio page carry people to the creator's page. The subscription converts them, and chatting turns subscribers into buyers.
The top of the funnel has to follow each platform's rules on sexual content, which is why it is usually a teaser and not the product itself.
The channels
The ratings below are rough and loosely follow one agency guide. They are not measurements, and platforms change their rules often.
| Channel | Reach | Risk of removal | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| TikTok | Very high | Very high | Short video that sends people to the link in the bio. Strict on sexual content. |
| High | High | Reels and stories with a link-in-bio. Strict on sexual content, and bans are common. | |
| X | Medium | Lower | More tolerant of adult content. Fans are often described as tougher on price. |
| Varies by community | Varies | Each community sets its own rules on promotion, and moderators remove posts and ban accounts. | |
| Dating apps | Narrow | High | High-intent audiences, but the terms usually prohibit promotion and bans are frequent. |
| Telegram | Low | Lower | Retention and offers to people who already follow. Poor for discovery. |
Plan for losing accounts
Every source we read agrees that accounts get removed, sometimes without warning. Run two or three channels at once, keep the creator's brand consistent across them, and collect a way to reach followers that you control, such as an email sign-up or a Telegram channel, wherever a platform allows it. Do not build an agency on one account you do not control.
- Read each platform's rules on adult content, promotion and automation before you post.
- Do not repost material that platforms treat as recycled, and use only content the creator owns or has cleared.
- Do not spam direct messages. It gets accounts restricted and annoys the people you want.
- Expect some accounts to fail, and budget time to rebuild.
Audience location
Fans in some countries are said to spend more per head, and agencies sometimes aim their posts at those audiences. Post at times that suit the audience's time zone, and treat the idea that one country spends more as a hypothesis to test with your own numbers.
Paid traffic
Once an organic channel works, some agencies add paid traffic through adult-friendly ad networks. Mainstream ad platforms restrict adult promotion, so ad copy and landing pages must stay within their rules wherever they allow it at all.
Treat paid traffic as an experiment with a cap. Spend only what a subscriber is worth, and compare the cost per subscriber with what an average subscriber goes on to spend.
What to measure
- Clicks from each channel to the link page
- Subscribers per channel, and the cost per subscriber
- What fans from each channel spend after subscribing, since some channels bring better fans than others
- How long accounts on each channel survive
